  • Built around an identified Patient Case
  • Patient Cases chosen for specific clinical challenges
  • Targeted to be done within 10-15 minutes
  • Typical elements
    • simulated patient (simulator or SP)
    • supporting documentation
      • labs where applicable
      • ultrasound exams where applicable
      • inSitu (must reflect the teams work environment)
    • elements preloaded into the respective simulators
      • ideally integrated into the technology within their environment
      • backups: Paper or confederate 
  • setup (including training for the case by the unit manager < 15 minutes)
  • teardown (post debrief < 15 minutes)
  • training of confederate(s) < 10 minutes
  • everything downloadable

Localization by area

Each team engagement needs to be adapted for the teams in their respective system

  • clinical areas
    • ED, ICU, OR, LDR, NICU, PICU, IR, etc
  • administrative areas
    • risk management
    • legal
    • executive suite
    • sanitation
  • If the hospital has 1000 staff (in their respective hierarchy)
    • 1000 people should be running the appropriate simulation (30 minutes weekly)
    • each individual should be training with their respective team members
    • it needs to built in to their weekly routine
